A suit is a set. Clean the jacket without the trousers a few times and the two drift apart in colour, which is how a good suit starts looking tired while both halves are still sound.
We clean both pieces together, press to the shape the canvas was built to hold rather than flattening it, and check the lining, the buttons and the vents before it goes back on the hanger.
